The Reading Challenge…
This year I decided to make my own Reading Challenge!
I have chosen 12 books that I have gotten from Christmas or in passing from family and friends and have wrapped them up! I have no idea which book is which, and I have no idea what the books are like as I haven’t read a single one of them.
At the beginning of each month, I will be using a random number generator to pick the lucky book. On the last Friday of the month, I will be posting a review on my YouTube channel, as well as a blog post about the book to let you know how I am getting on 🙂
I can’t wait to share this new Reading Challenge with you all! If you are completing a reading challenge this year, don’t forget to let me know how you are getting on in the comments below!
March Update …
Unforunately due to problems with YouTube, I am having to type the review to you 😦 I am hoping that I will have YouTube back up and running shortly!
Title: After Anna
Author: Alex Lake
Publisher: Harper Fiction
Format Read: Paperback
About the Book
The real nightmare starts when her daughter is returned…
A girl is missing. Five years old, taken from outside her school. She has vanished, traceless.
The police are at a loss; her parents are beyond grief. Their daughter is lost forever, perhaps dead, perhaps enslaved.
But the biggest mystery is yet to come: one week after she was abducted, their daughter is returned.
She has no memory of where she has been. And this, for her mother, is just the beginning of the nightmare.
I feel quite sad writing this review, as I DNF the book! Within the first 80ish pages, I had guessed who was the one orchestrating/took Anna in the first place, which created disappointment within me as I kept reading. In the end, I did have to stop and not read anymore.
With reading a lot of books of this genre, it does sometimes became easier to pick out the key elements of a book, which I found I was able to do with this one pretty quickly in the book. Not every book is for me, and I accept that.
This month, I got my partner to pick a number between 1 and 9 to choose my next book; he choose number 4 which was Reflection by Elizabeth Lim!!
If you have read it, what did you think? Did you enjoy it?
Don’t forget to let me know in the comments how your reading challenge is going for this year!
Happy Reading, x
