MAGICAL READATHON 2020

Magical Readathon 2020?!

The Magical Readathon was created by G – Book Roast three years ago! This is the first year that I have (remembered!) and was able to take part! This years readathon is based on Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.

The rules are simple! After taking a look at the career options available, you must complete the required O.W.Ls exams and then in August, you can move on to the N.E.W.Ts!

To find out more about the Magical Readathon itself, take a look at the website here as well as the video posted above.

There are over 10 careers available to choose from! The Guidebook has the information included with which careers are there available this year, as well as extra courses or seminars that can be undertaken to advance your cause! This year I am going for Wandmaker!

Now that I have chosen my career, I will need to choose a book per prompt for the O.W.Ls exam. The prompts I need to work on are; Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, Care of Magical Creatures, Charms, Herbology.

Ancient Runes

Heart Rune: Heart on the cover or in the title
Book choice: Matters of the Heart by Danielle Steel

Arithmancy

Magical qualities of 2: Balance/opposites – read something outside your favourite genre
Book choice: Stardust by Neil Gaiman

Care of Magical Creatures

Hippogriffts: Creature with a beak on the cover
Book choice: Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban (How could I not?!)

Charms

Lumos Maxima: White cover
Book Choice: The White Princess by Philippa Gregory

Herbology

Minbulus Mimbletonia: Title starts with an M
Book Choice: Mirror, Mirror by Jen Calonita

I can’t wait to get stuck in! Hope you enjoy this Readathon if you are taking part, if not, I will let you know how I get on afterwards!

Happy Reading 🙂

    1. It was so much fun to do! The next part of the Magical Readathon is meant to be happening in August, but I am unsure whether the organiser will be going ahead due to recent news events.
